On Blogging and the Good News — Hello Dot Com!

I started blogging not basically for my passion for writing, but for the main reason that I had always wanted to have my own site. I had always pictured myself having my own space away from my social accounts where I am connected with the people who know me. To be honest, I would often think of going anonymous so I could just spill all the unspoken thoughts that I had been keeping for years. I got sick and tired of keeping them all to myself I thought it would be better if I had a site where I can just express myself freely.

I was really determined to have one that I came to know wix. I managed to create a blog without watching or reading any tutorial stuff and made three posts which were about my experience at a popular lake in my province Leyte, my thoughts on “fitting in” and traveling, respectively. However, I found the platform complicated to navigate so I eventually left. I then discovered wordpress and luckily, even when it took me some time to figure this whole thing out, I liked it.

I have made a couple of posts already since I started, but I deleted some of them (while others are in the drafts section waiting to be edited as their photos vanished). I think they were crappy, (not like some of my blogs posted aren’t, lol) and some were just too personal and pointless. I didn’t go anonymous like I once thought of doing because I realized it is not bad at all if people know the face behind the blog, but I drew a line between what I can and I cannot share. Going anonymous doesn’t really guarantee a shield and protection, I reckon. With or without the face shown, one could get hurt if thrown bad words.

As time passed, I get to discover myself more, the things that my heart desires and would love to dare. From writing personal stuff, I started venturing into travel blog writing, and later, I’ll probably pursue reviews. Someone once told me that I shouldn’t limit myself to only one thing and should allow myself to embrace other things and I have been drawing my inspiration from that aside from the people I look up to. Anyway, before this post gets longer and you get more bored reading, let me welcome myself to the dot-com world. A Blog or Two is finally a real website! Yey! 🎉 It was exactly 9 months ago (January 20th) when I posted my first blog and I’m so happy it didn’t take me a year to get rid of the “wordpress” thing from my domain. Yay! 😅

I owe this to the people who unknowingly helped me to get here e.g. those who visit my blog and read my posts, you guys just don’t know how much it means to me. To myself, I can’t thank you enough for not giving up on this esp. at times when you just felt bad about your writing. I have so many things already that I started and eventually given up on, and I couldn’t be more glad it didn’t become one of them. However, without God, this would not have been possible. I had a couple of chance to upgrade it before but today was the best one because I finally managed to let go of my worries. (2400 Php or $ 46.6 isn’t that cheap for me, honestly.). Nonetheless, I look forward to what dot-com has in store for me. I hope it’ll help me fulfill, some, if not all of my goals. (If you’ve made it this far, I’m sorry if I’ve said a lot, but I hope it gave you a thing or two.) Thank you for reading and I hope you’ll subscribe to my blog! 😍😍😍

Congratulations, Erma! It is really an awesome feeling to have a dotcom site. Wonderful. You have not bored us during this read, but just resurrected how you have grown with the blog. I am happy to be around, as if I have travelled the beautiful island you live in & have known you a bit.

  2. Hi Erma! Thanks for the tip earlier. I got excited reading this post because I too want to have the dotcom. 🙂 I still have a long way to go, but I’m really really looking forward to it. How did you decide to finally get a personal plan?

    1. Hello. I’d always wished to have my own website, so I finally upgraded it as soon as I got the chance to put money into my paypal. A friend of mine offered me to do so since that time I didn’t have a bank. ☺

      1. I can understand. To be honest, this isn’t my only blog. I have another and more personal blog. As you can see, I have review blogs here. I couldn’t change my title so I had to create another that suits me, my personality more, and I retained it for business purposes, and if audience matters, it’s here that it does, but my at other blog, it doesn’t.
